Hello, Mara_A,
Thank you veru much for your response.
Please see a screenshot for the WRT3200's dashboard and screenshots for the main network settings of the mesh system.
I am fine with the idea of keeping both the WRT3200 and the mesh system, my question is "what is the correct configuration?"
Shall I use the WRT3200 as the primary router, and the mesh system as the secondary router (i.e.: WAN of Primary router get connected to the LAN of the modem, and the WAN of the secondary router get connected to the LAN of the primary router)?
or shall I use the mesh systems as the primary router, and the WRT3200 as the secondary router?
I am thinking that if Ikept both the router and the mesh system, I would like to have 2 networks as below:
LAN A: For business and critical functions (such as Business, NAS, security cameras) - This would be the main network with VPN, firewall, device detection capabilities, remote monitoring and others.
LAN B: For home and kids activities (such as zoom classes, light games, TV) - LAN B would be a subset of the main network which should be managed by LAN A.
Additional requirements:
- LAN A should see and manage LAN B, but LAN B should not see or make any changes to LAN A (my kids are less than 12 yrs old but I want to avoid accidental mistakes). I want also to keep LAN A secure if the kids accidently did something wrong on the web and one of their devices on LAN B got compromised.
- I need to be able to apply VPN for the whole home ( a function that I know availabel in WRT3200)
Thank you so much in advance for your guidance and advice!
