2118 Error Haunts Me Again/From EA7500/Now EA9300

No VPN, No USB connected devices, Comcast ISP. Installed new firmware first, factory reset, set up wireless settings etc...Up and running, access lower settings in router and back to 2118 error or spinning circle, then blank window.

Anybody got a fix to this? I know the work arounds, unplug modem, turn off IP V6, etc...anything else to rectify this error?

This is a brand new Belkin replacement/not refurb for the EA7500 which had same issue. Why is this still going on? I have zero device connectivity issues or drops in wireless....ZERO! **bleep**.

Re: WRT3200ACM with dd-wrt leds issue

Good Morning,

I thank all for suggestions, since I'm such a newbie.   I flashed with the 33006.  I played around for a while and somehow got back to the Linksys software.  (guess I hit the go back to stock Linksys firmware).  Anyway, with surprise and delight, I did the dd-wrt factory software and flashed it.  Had some diffiulties with that, as the router consistently said NOT connected to internet.

so, put it on wireless to see me through.  Thought I got there.  From there, I went to "update firmtware" and used the ..webflash..bin.  Minor dofficulty again, not being connected.  Did same thing.

LED lights looked good.  Fixed that problem.  Speed at around 50% of comcast modem speed.  But this is without security (no WPA-personal, passwords or whatever).

Went to configure router for my VPN and was informed that the dd-wrt was not installed correctly.  (When attempting to change stuff, router just kicked me off, needed to re-boot, etc, etc).

Not sure if it is because I went wireless, went update firmware for 2nd file (vs manual installation) or perhaps the Ethernet connection should be in the LAN port rather than the WAN port.

Wife is angry, as I keep toying with this (thus no access for her either) and now I'm into the 2nd month!  But that's a personal problem.

Being a die hard, I've almos given up

EA7500 LAN SPEED SLOWER THAN IVP4 WIRELESS

I just changed wireless routers from Netgear N600 dual band router to the EA7500.  The wireless download speed to my laptop is much faster however the dowload speed to my desktop which is  connected with  LAN has slowed from 94mbps with the Netgear to about 64mbps.  I'm using windows 7.  My Local Area Connection Status shows no IPv6 Internet acess however it does show IPv4 connected to internet.   Interestingly on the same page,  it states that my speed is 100mbps.

I have been trying to get the LAN internet connection thru the IPv6 however no such luck.   I've spent hours trying to figure this out, I would appreciate any help.

Thanks for your support

This issue only happens for me using the 5GHz network. I have tried using different channels and still run into the same issue where my client is dropped (meaning I can't even ping the router) while another client (such as my phone) can still access 5GHz without issue.

Sometimes the connection comes back, or sometimes I switch to 2.4GHz. I don't have this same issue with the 2.4GHz band.

This is running 1.0.6.181063 (the latest firmware at the time). Any ideas why this is happening?

Having had a few day to consider these points, of which I have no doubt what you say is 100%, the current state of play with the firmware options. My pont is that (IMHO) it should not be this way.  I still feel (IMHO)  that having one option under LOCAL NETWORK for DHCP which seams to disables DHCP everywhere else on the whole router is wrong. This is totally inflexible(IMHO). Bridge mode is aswell.

I must admit I have limited knowledge to know if it is possible to have LOCAL NETWORK (ie.device connection only) DHCP disabled, whilst allowing other DHCP elements that are still active, to function, like WAN DHCP in INTERNET SETTINGS (these seperate option heading imply that it is designed to be, but is not - so can it be programmed? Does this also mean it cant currently do what it says on the tin?).

Also with regard apps, more may still function if they only require WAN DHCP for example(it could be that turning of DHCP off everywhere stops the app working, when there is no need). I think the best fimware would have the most functions available without limiting others.

If this option (WAN DHCP only active) is not going to be implemented in a future firmware upgrade, of which I was looking forward to,  please let me know now, as I dont think I could live with the router like this forever.

I am interested to hear what other people think.

Thanks For reading.

AC1200 not working with Spectrum Arris DG1670A Modem/Router in bridge mode

Up until a couple of days ago, we had a Time Warner Cable (TWC) cable modem at our church.  We purchased a Linksys AC1200 router about a year and a half ago and life was good.

Unfortunately, we wanted to upgrade our Internet speed and Spectrum (who bought out TWC) said we had to install one of their Arris DG1670A combination modem/routers in place of the TWC modem.  We have had nothing but grief since.

The Internet goes completely down a couple of times a day (all users are locked up.)  Despite hours of time spent with Spectrum support, they have me reboot their Arris box and pronounce that all is good and they won't send a technician out to our office to replace the Arris box because everything is working.

I had Spectrum's phone support people place the Arris box into "bridged" mode so that I don't have to worry about issues like port-forwarding from the Arris to the Linksys AC1200.  That's when my problems really began.  The biggest issue is that I can no longer access the admin pages my Linksys router very well.  I can log into the Linksys AC1200 and get to the main menu page OK.  But when I try to access most of the Linksys admin pages, the "waiting" logo will spin and spin and never go to that page.

I need to do some port forwarding to our web cam, and sometimes I can click on the "security" shield and see the DMZ and port forwarding tabs.  But when I try to click on the DMZ tab, I get a prompt that says "you must save changes to this page", even though I haven't made any changes to that security page.  No matter which of the 3 options I choose, my computer will not display the DMZ page.

These Linksys AC1200 admin pages were all working just fine prior to installing this Arris router.

Before putting the Arris into bridged mode, I disabled the Arris firewall and disabled the Arris wi-fi.  Spectrum tech support has put the modem into bridged and then back to NAT'ted mode a couple of times.

In bridged mode the Arris should be forwarding all the ports to and from the Linksys ADC1200 without any interference.  However, my guess is that some port or ports that the Linksys SMART wI-fI setup needs are being blocked by the Arris while it is in bridged mose.

Can anybody tell me what ports the Linksys "smart wi-fi" setup admin web pages need in order to communicate back to Linksys (or wherever it needs to connect to)?   At least I could tell Spectrum that "port XXX appears to be blocked from going into (or out of) the Arris box"...

     Anything else I can try?

Thanks!

WRT3200ACM DLNA not working

Hi,

I tried to setup the DLNA share with the WRT3200. I have attached a hart disk to USB2 which is the USB3.0 port. The hard disk is recognized and shared and accessible via network share. However, when I enable the DLNA share, it is not shown nor accessible.

I use the router as a switch only, ie. without making an internet connection.

How do I enable the DLNA so that it is working?

Problem with Port Forwarding on EA7500

$

Hi,

I'm trying to configure my EA7500 so that my web server, located at 192.168.1.10 receives the requests sent from the outside world.

I know that the requests reach the router, as I clear the log in the router first, obtaining this:

Incoming log
Source IP address | Destination port number

Outgoing log
LAN IP address | Destination URL or IP address | Service or port number

Security log
LAN IP address | MAC address | Timestamp | Authentication result

DHCP client log
LAN IP address | MAC address | Timestamp | Message type

And once i've sent the request for the web server (going through DybDNS, etc.) the log becomes this:

Incoming log
Source IP address | Destination port number
188.42.255.221 80  <= And this is the IP address where the requests originates from (it's a VPN exit point)

Outgoing log
LAN IP address | Destination URL or IP address | Service or port number

Security log
LAN IP address | MAC address | Timestamp | Authentication result

DHCP client log
LAN IP address | MAC address | Timestamp | Message type

The Port Forwarding is fairly simple:

Application Name: HTTP

External Port: 80

Internal Port: 80

Protocol: Both

Device IP: 192.168.1.10

And it is enabled.

But the problem is that I see nothing on the LAN, neither by peeking at the port inputs on the web server nor on Wireshark (although I admit that I'm not at all an expert.

So what is happening here?

Thanks in advance for your answers...

I currently have the EA 3500 and am looking at upgrading to a AC1750 or 1900.  Can I use the same setup/software?  Or do I have to do a complete install?

I am having the same problem.  It seems to be related to the availability of access via the cable modem.  It is simply a moden and not a modem with a router.

I discoveded the issue last evening when the cable went out for an extended period.  I found the 10.xx.xx.xx address of the router, accessed it and found that it had changed the the LAN ip to the same thing.  This means if I am away and the cable goes out and comes back on nothing in the house can report out.  Something seems amiss with the router, last evening in the outage it acctually showed over time three different Lan IPs and would not take a reset on a permanent basis.

To get a better understanding, which model(s) are you looking at, you can go to ui.linksys.com to see the difference between the EA3500 and the newer Smart-Wifi (non Cisco models, now Belkin, which do not use Cisco Connect software). You would have to do a complete install.

There is a reason for Pure Force X.

Pure Force X will actually help you start relationships with professors just like you. Pure Force X could be a much larger project than you might anticipate. We'll get it tied down or I sensed it was about time I looked into Pure Force X to find out what all the racket was about. This is the most ordinary detail in the world. I'm operating at peak efficiency this morning. Indeed, "What's the frequency, Kenneth?" It would be terrific if Pure Force X was not urgent to me.

Pure Force X has many loyal enthusiasts. http://www.healthsupplementsreviews.info/pure-force-x/
