Re: WRT3200ACM with dd-wrt leds issue

Last "stable" release of DD-WRT was back in 2008, since then they are all beta. Can't blame him, can't test on 500+ routers every release, he has also been doing updates to the GUI which has some hiccups now and then.

I've had a good experience with their customer service and tech support. However, it is somewhat misleading when a Linksys customer representative provides me a date of availability for Version 2, and now it is a different unknown date.

It would of been better to just say that he/she didn't know the release date yet.

I ended up returning my EA9500, and got a EA8300, but I am not really happy with it since the WiFi keeps getting disconnected. I'm going to go back to ASUS for now. May be in a couple of year I'll go back to Linksys.

Re: EA9500 - massive and disappointing wireless problem

I bought my ea9500 in February. V1.1. For the last month or so I've been dealing with constant and automatic rebooting of my router. I will be online then it just randomly reboots itself which makes me lose all wired/wireless connections until it boots up again. It has factory reset itself multiple times. This morning when I woke up it had reset itself again and I had to set up my router again. This can't be normal. I've tried everything short of moving my router to another location. I am certain it's not my internet connection as my modem has not dropped its connection during any of this. Sometimes it will reboot in a constant loop, meaning as soon as the wifi reconnects, it reboots again.

I've tried chaging both 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels hoping that it may be an overlapping channel issue to no avail. No matter if I choose AUTO, turn off smart connect, manually select a channel, etc...It still will reboot and/or eventually factory reset itself. I've tried every combination possible! It's been very frustrating to say the least. I thought it might be overheating, so I put some miniature cups underneath the rubber feet to give it more airflow. It still reboots and resets itself. I have the most recent firmware.

I have not had any issues like this with any other Linksys router that I have owned, so I am wondering if i've got a defective unit.

Please help!

Thank You!

The EA8500 should work fine. Is the firmware up to date?

I wish that I could do that! I purchased this router on 02/17/17. I am outside of Amazon.com's return period. It didn't start having this issue until early July and it's been constant ever since.

Sorry I miss read your post.

I didn't think the EA8300 had a reboot issue. I recommend RMA it regardless.

Negatory on the RMA. That would take longer than just returning it to Best Buy. Thank you for the option though.

@GFOviedo - Regarding the RMA, I meant for me for the one I just bought from Linksys directly. I can't return something to BB that I didn't buy from BB...

I'm only going to return it if the box says "1.4 GHz Dual Core" like the box for the V1.1 says on the left side of the box where it specifies the USB ports, processor, ethernet ports, etc. I'd post a pic of the left - side spec list on the box if this forum supported those kinds of things. That's how I know all of the EA9500 routers the BB near me has in stock are V1.1 or V1.

The side of the box you can see at 1:48 into this YouTube unboxing:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgaEbR9L1fk

Dude reads the whole box to you. Kind of irritating. I think I can read... LOL

Actually you CAN edit your posts on a PC - been using my phone the rest of the time. I don't see how to edit using the mobile version of this forum.

Don't get to excited about hardware specs as the firmware is garbage.

I avoid buying anything online from the manufacturer.  The only place I usually buy anything online is Amazon since their shipping is very fast, and they do not hasitate to replace the itme if it isn't working to your standards / expectations.

I usually buy from BB and have them price match.  It's much better and easier to return.

hi, hope you're well..

i am having the same problem as in i can not log in to 198.162.1.1 to edit any of my settings at all.

I would like to change my password, & i have done it before although i needed to change it again after sharing it with someone. (thanks for any "don't share it again comments" i'd like to focus on the problem i'm having as opposed to fault. Thanks.)

So before i coud not log in to change ity either, even with my username & password... so i decided to reset the router, which anyone can connect now without a password. The site (198.162.1.1) still will not let me log in with default pssword. I'vde tried: "admin/admin" ,"username / password","username / admin", "blank / admin", "blank / password" "1234", "0000" etc....

Many combinations &single words & i can't log in. I tried everything listed above, multiple times. I have succesfully reset my router again twice, made sure to follow steps, seen blinking of lights; that went fine.. just logging in i can not do no matter what.

I did the suggestion to see if my computer gets a reply from the router & that went fine. Everything seems to be ok just am not able to log in to the site..

I know this post is old, just trying many places in hope to greater chances of a reply that aids me succesfully in fixing this problem.

Take care, have a good one!
