RE6500 UPnP DMA2100

Hello, I have a DMA2100 and have always connected to my router directly (wired); I use Trendnet TEW-812DRU

I moved my router to another room and connect a RE6500 to it.  I connect my XBOX one to the RE6500 and my DMA 2100.  The XBOX One connects fine and the DMA 2100 seems to connect.

Howver, when I attempt to attach the DMA (extender) to the media center I get the message in Even Viewer.

"Media Center Extender Setup failed as the Extender was detected on the network but the UPnP search for the Extender failed (timed out after 20000ms)."

I verified the 812-DRU has UPnP enabled but the DMA still doesn't connect.  Any ideas?

Thanks

I think the RE6500 is interfering with the DMA's UPNP communications. I recommend connecting the DMA to your Trendnet's wireless so it has direct communication with the router.

Thanks. But the idea on purchasing the RE6500 is to connect the DMA using a Range Extender.  The router (Trendnet) is in another room in the house and too far where the DMA is.  Is there a way to have the RE6500 not intefere with UPnP?

Hey, I tried your methods but not worked for me. I found another post on google, they provide top 8 methods to fix error 651. and 5th method worked for me. You should add the method in your post. Thanks

Make sure the firmware is up to date in the RE6500 first then if that doesn't work try connecting the DMA to the RE6500 wireless instead of hardwire.

How to display SSID_5Ghz on air for EA9500

Just upgraded my router from EA4500 to EA9500, using same SSID as before, seem every device stays in connected smoothly without problem.
As the 2.4Ghz and 5GHz1 + 5GHz2 in 'Wi-Fi Settings' are both 'ON', but only 'SSID_2.4GHz' shown in network but 'SSID_5GHz' is missing. All devices are connected to 2.4GHz shown in Network Map. (included latest ipad and iphone)

Can anyone tell me how to display SSID_5Ghz on air, is it possible to switch some of the devices to 5Hz network manually?

Thanks a lot!  : )

You can configure the EA9500 to have separate SSIDs' for the 2.4ghz and 5ghz.

Just ordered an EA9500 V2 directly from Linksys, and when I told her what I wanted, instead of listening to me, the rep started asking me how many wireless devices I had, etc. etc. etc. I had to tell her repeatedly that I knew what I wanted, that none of that information mastered, that I wanted the EA9500, and that I wanted the V2, NOT the V1 or V1.1.

After being on hold a couple different times, she said that all they had in stock anymore was the new V2 and guaranteed that that was what I would receive. They had it on a pretty good sale, so that threw some serious sketch regarding it being the latest version, so we'll see what happens. If it's not the right thing, back it goes.

I just called and talked to Linksys Customer Support, and I was told the sales department would not know what version they are selling you.  The only way to find out the version would be to open the box and look at the unit's version #.  So, you might not be getting what you want.

@GFOviedo - I thought you said it would be available 8/3/2017 in an earlier post...

Traditionally Linksys hasn't put a devices hardware version on the Box only the model#.

AFAIK the only way to know for sure which hardware version a model has is to open the box and look at the underside product label on the unit.

Processor specs on the box will determine this one - 1.4GHz dual core for V1 and V1.1, and 1.8GHz quad core for V2...

And 1024MB RAM vs 256MB. Anybody know how to edit your own posts on here? I don't... Obviously...

No specs on the box al all. You'll have to buy it to find out. Good luck with that one.

I did. I was told by Linksys rep that it would be available by 8/3/17, but when I called back to order it, I was told they didn't have a released date yet and that it would probably be next month.

The EA9500 boxes at my local Best Buy have the specs printed right on the side, and I guess I'll be getting an RMA number and a return shipping label if /when I get the wrong item, and probably another Nighthawk with similar specs given my experiences with Linksys so far this time around.
