Doesn't any of your engeneer have a Comcast ISP at home? You can connect to my ISP Remotely on Friday through Sunday if you need. As long as you can identify yourself as Employees of Linksys.

I'm an independent contractor with Linksys hence the orange coloring on my forum username.
I don't know Linksys engineering's testing and QA process so can't speak regarding that.
That's a nice offer of the remote access to your network but I don't think it will be necessary due to all the data coming in now.
What we need is pcaps of the communication coming from the modem only or between the modem and EA8500 (not easily done) on an effected network.
To capture pcaps of the modem only communications all you do is connect a computer directly to the modem and start Wireshark capture on the Ethernet adapter used. Then we can filter for AllJoy communications. It would be even better to temporarily disable all protocols and clients under the Ethernet adapter's properties to capture only modem communications for isolation.
@chadster,
I was just talking to Comcast Technical Support about this. The firewalls on their cable modems and gateways, as of July 2013, are both SPI and NAT enabled. The end user has very limited access to settings on the firewall. On the latest device, the Arris TG1682G, the user can turn the firewall on or off. However, I found that when I disabled the firewall on mine I also was disconnected from the internet. According to Comcast, that is by design.
I've never used wireshark, and I'm not sure if how to isolate communication to just capture the Gateway communication.
Re: Amber light for Internet on WRT1900AC
Mine had this issue over 3 months, after I applied the 1.1.7 to 1.1.9 firmware update. About 4 days ago, I have changed the LAN DHCP DNS settings to Google's DNS (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4), and the INTERNET light are stable on White color.

Wireshark is awesome and super easy to use. Just install and start it up. Then select your Ethernet adapter and click start. When you stop and start or exit Wireshark it will ask you if you want to save the pcaps. You can isolate the communication to modem only by temporarily disabling all protocols and clients as shown below. If you don't disable those protocols and clients the pcap will show all communications between computer and modem such as DHCP request and responses (everything).
Re: WRT1900AC and OpenWrt
They have not offered to send him a replacement.

I'm not using the router at present, just the TG1682G. Still want some readings from that?

Yes but during the pcaps the modem will have to be configured the same as you had it configured for the EA8500.
Re: EA8500 powers down after around 6 hours or so...
I need to find X11 to use Wireshark on any of my Mac's, and X11 was discontinued by Apple a couple years ago.
I don't have a Windows PC to run it on, sorry.

It should work on Mac there is a dmg file for older OS X versions:
Re: EA9200 2.4Ghz problem
OK so I think I found a temporary solution. By turning on the "No-Acknowledgement" feature in the media prioritization settings the video streaming and general reliability has been much improved. It still skips but less frequwntly and will resume playback after a few seconds. I was also able to set the band width to auto with No-Acknowledgement on. I will continue to monitor and report back if I find a better solution.
Re: EA9200 2.4Ghz problem
Thanks for the update.
Re: EA8500 powers down after around 6 hours or so...
I can use an old Open Source project called XQuartz in place of X11, but it hasn't been updated to install or run on anything newer than 10.9.
Re: EA8500 powers down after around 6 hours or so...
Another option would be to download the source on your current system can compile it. I had to do that with iPerf on Mac OS X 10.10.3.

With MTU setting low I now had my first "powerdown/crash" with my second rma e8500.
Uptime about 3 days this time.
Realy hope it gets solved, router performance is oke, but this one is frustrating and going on for many weeks.
Are you saying with MTU at "Auto" or 1500, you have no problems? I set my MTU to as low as 1300 and it didn't make a difference. The router (old firmware) still powered down.
Re: WRT1900AC and VOIP 'netphone'
It looks like only a firewall configuration is required but not easily found since the gear the documentation in order to get you to purchase there modem.

Re: WRT1900AC and VOIP 'netphone'
There is no rj11 port on the wrt to plug a phone into which is why I was asking about third party VOIP adapters.
Re: WRT54GL Wirless not working, Wired connection works fine. help!!
Try to configure the router's wireless settings manually. Plug a PC to the router and access the router's page using these credentials:
Address: http://192.168.1.1
Username: blank/empty
Password: admin
Once you're on the router's page, check if the router's SSID broadcast is enabled. If nothing works, I suggest you manually reset the router again and reconfigure the settings.

Re: WRT1900AC and VOIP 'netphone'
Oh yes you need to purchase an IP Phone to work with the VOIP Service.

This subject is really something you should ask iinet support for answers.
