Re: EA8500 2.4Ghz dropping connection on latest firmware
We understand your sentiments pjtarheel.
What troubleshooting steps have you tried, to try to fix the setback on your end? Have you tried changing your router's wireless channels? If you haven't tried that, please do so. Also, you may want to check this link for the reasons why connections drop-outs and how to fix them: https://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=142891#:~:text=2.4%20GHz%20interference%20-%20Your%20router,restart%20the%20Wi-Fi%20devices.

Unable to enable AP Isolation
I am attempting to setup my old Linksys EA4500 as a guest AP. Currently I have it setup in Bridge mode to my main network and it is working but I need to enable AP Isolation as I don't want devices communicating to each other. I found that if I changed home.html to advanced-settings.html I was able to access secret settings. I found the option for AP Isolation but every time I enable it and click apply the screen dims for a second then go back to as it was. I refresh and it's not enabled and I am able to communicate with two test machines. Am I doing something wrong or is something not configured correctly?
Re: WRT3200ACM losing WAN connection
here is one thing that may be a hint:
Looking at the release notes, we see:
Firmware version: 1.0.8.199531 Release date: February 13, 2020 - Fixed a buffer overflow security vulnerability --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Firmware version: 1.0.8.198828 Release date: January 8, 2020 - Integrated WLAN driver v9.1.2.6 and FW v9.3.2.8 - Added support for the Marvell Armada 385 Rev. B0 CPU - Resolved multiple security vulnerabilities - General bug fixes --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Firmware version: 1.0.6.186168 Release date: January 16, 2018 - Integrated WLAN FW v9.3.2.3 - Resolved Wi-Fi connectivity issues triggered by Android clients
Something was modified regarding WLAN driver; I noticed that there were fewer or no WAN connection drops when the WLAN settings were left at the default settings after factory reset. I'd have to try this again to verify, but would need a couple of days where nobody needs the WLAN. That is not going to be anytime soon - does anybody have a chance to check this out? (factory reset -> leave WLAN setting untouched -> check WAN drops using Windows Event Viewer)

Re: Unable to enable AP Isolation
Hi @Dudefoxlive. Is this working fine before? May you provide us a quick setup of your network so we can have a better view? Try to reboot the device and check if the firmware is updated.
Re: Unable to enable AP Isolation
I did some googling and found that even though I could get to those settings they can't be changed. So I installed OpenWRT and set it up as a Bridged AP. It works almost exactly as on the linksys firmware just I can't access the webGUI from the LAN. The device is on a VLAN.
Re: Unable to enable AP Isolation
Got that, @Dudefoxlive
You mentioned you cannot log in to the LAN WebUI. Were you able to receive an error message during your attempt? If so, can you tell us the error message so we can have it checked? Also, were you able to try using a different web browser for isolation? If not, you may give it a try.
Re: Unable to enable AP Isolation
Let me explain. I have the device on a VLAN. On the linksys firmware I could put the device in bridge mode and be able to access it's web GUI from LAN. Since I am unable to enable the AP Isolation on the Linksys Firmware I installed OpenWRT Firmware on the device. I setup the device as a Bridged AP and can only access the device when I am locally connected to the device itself. I can no longer access it from LAN like I could on the Linksys Firmware but at least Client Isolation is working. The device is used as a Guest Network where friends and family can come over and connect to that or I can connect a laptop to it and not have to worry about a virus spreading to LAN or other devices connected.
Re: EA7500 has IPv6 TCP WiFi bug
Thank you everyone for this thread, this problem bugged me for months before I finally found this. Specifically, all my android devices had problems with google services, i.e. the play store wouldn't download, etc. What finally solved it was enabling "Access via wireless" in the connectivity > administration menu. Thanks @pcskibum
EA9500 Band Steering vs. Individual Band Help
Hello. Per subject I'm trying to optimize the bands on my EA9500. Historically, I just had Band Steering set for the (2) 5GHz bands and had no issues. However, we just moved and the auto channels selected are the same as what most of my neighbors are using. Ideally, I'd like to reduce interference. However, I also don't want to have to mess with having three band SSIDs (2.4 and 5 GHZ1 and 5GHz2). What happens if I disable band steering but have both 5GHz bands have the same SSID? Is that similar to band steering where connected devices will arbitrarily be assigned one of the two bands and their associated channels? It would allow me to at least select channels that overlap but aren't the same as my neighbors. Otherwise, with band steering enabled, is there a way to to get the router to look at the band interference again and switch auto channel(s) accordingly? Thanks.

With the EA9500 Band Steering disabled no load balancing will occur regardless of the 5Ghz SSIDs being the same.
Keep in mind that 5Ghz has issues with building materials so outside strong 5Ghz signal interference odds are lower due to this.
Linksys E8350 not broadcasting wifi
Good day.
I have a Linksys E8350 that's right out of the box, firmware upgraded to the latest version and then factory reset. I am unable to pick up any wifi signal being broadcast despite the wifi LED being on and the configuration being set. Curiously, the Status page shows N/A for Channel and Channel Width. Any ideas?
Thanks.
J.
Re: Linksys E8350 not broadcasting wifi
Try resetting the unit by holding down the recessed reset button until it reboots.
Re: Linksys E8350 not broadcasting wifi
Thank you for your reply.
Resetting did not have any effect on the availability of wifi.
Linksys E1200 firmware 2.0.06 update
Hello,
I am running an old e1200 with Windows 10 (yes, I know, not compatible)
and v2.0.06
Can I update to v 2.2 (build 2.0.11) directly?
Will it wipe out my current settings?
Any other steps to consider?
Thanks,
VooPoo
Re: Linksys E8350 not broadcasting wifi
Try setting 2.4ghz channel to 6 and 5Ghz channel to 36.

You can only load firmware for your hardware version. Check the underside product label and if not version number is listed it's a version 1.
Re: Linksys E8350 not broadcasting wifi
Thank you for your responses. Setting the channel did not have an effect on the availability of wifi.
I reflashed 1.0.03 on to the router and was able to see wifi being broadcast after that.
Re: Linksys E1200 firmware 2.0.06 update
This file was downloaded from the site
FW_E1200_2.0.11.001_US_20180910.bin
How do I open a .bin file?
Re: Linksys E1200 firmware 2.0.06 update
hmmm.. I tried the Linksys connect software and it came back with
Error code: 80070043
Model name: unknown
Model number: E1200
Serial number: <it found it>
Firmware version: unknown
Operating system: Windows 8
Software version: 1.5.13291.0
Connection type (WAN): unknown
IP address (LAN): unknown
IP address (WAN): unknown

Note is says Windows 8. Perhaps I can't update it from ehre even though it is E1200 V2?
Thanks,
