Have you tried removing power for about 10 seconds then power it back on and wait for it to finish booting and see if it works

Glad you got it figured out and it was cableing. I would try CAT6 class cabling as well. As for the LAN HUB, it may not be compatible as there are differences between LAN wired HUB and SWITCHES....
