So I recently discovered that my Linksys E4200_V1 with the latest firmware 1.0.05 is reporting wrong country codes for some websites and apps.. Here's what I found and tested.
When I go to origin.com (ea's website), all the purchase prices are in EURO's and not US Currency $$. I have a TV app 3DGO that when I open it, it says not support in my country, but when I go to the website it says you can only use the service in the USA.
I'm in California USA with time warner.. I contacted all the companies involved and time warner was the one who did the most troubleshooting to find the source of issue.
If I plug directly into the modem and bypass the router, I can show the $$ amount at origin.com. If I disable wifi on my cell phone and go to 4G, then again the website on my phone will show in $$ (on wifi it's in euro).
I even connected an older E1000 router and everything was fine there as well, still got US currency and app worked.. So I plugged my E4200 back in and still on EURO!? I checked whatsmyip and it reports USA, Time warner.
I even installed tomato (2 different versions) and still same thing..
So I put the stock 1.0.05 back on and still same issues.
Can anyone tell me what's going on? Is the internet changing and this router can't keep up? I know this is a router bug but I called Cisco and this is a discontinued product, wow $200 for this POS. They couldn't help me.
Anyways, any ideas or suggestions would greatly be appreciated.. Otherwise I'm going ASUS.
