Hi there, I do not have access to the Warless-N WTR160NL, after performing the firmware update, all the front LEDs turn on, but the PC does not see the router, when I try to enter the configuration page through the ip http: // 192.168.1.1

the message I have is the following:

This website cannot be accessed

Cannot access http://192.168.1.1/.

I have pressed the reset vote for 10 seconds and nothing, I press it again for 30 seconds and it does not work either, I do not know what to do please, can you help me by indicating the possible solutions to this problem.

So I've been testing this off and on. Since it's intermittent and I don't have any logs to look at, I can't exactly do thorough testing to figure out what the issue is.

I checked the firmware and it seemed like it was the correct, most recent version for the MR9000.

I tried plugging it into my UPS instead of the wall outlet. Maybe it improved a bit? I'm not sure, since I have no actual data to look at. In any case, though, it's still rebooting on me.

I just tried a factory reset earlier today and it just rebooted on me a few minutes ago.

I don't have this issue with my MR9600 firmware 1.0.2.201242. Double check your uptime in the sysinfo.cgi to confirm the reboots.

Below are some of my standard Velop setup recommendations:

  • 5Ghz doesn't pass through building materials very well so I wouldn't worry about a strong outside 5Ghz interference too much.
  • According to my previous Velop testing Bridge Mode will provide the most performance since the Velop won't be doing NAT and firewalling.
  • Use your sysinfo.cgi bh_report to maximize your coverage by keeping the AP\STA signal strengths to approx -70 between nodes. This will also help your wireless client roaming between nodes.
  • Disable Prioritization, Node and Client Steering.
  • Set Prioritization speeds manually to  1024mbps for both  download and upload even though it's disabled
  • Have separate SSIDs for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz.
  • Try to get a hub and spoke topology instead of a daisy chain.

Instructions to get the Velop sysinfo.cgi report:

  1. Linksys App => Velop Administration => Click on first node in list
  2. LAN => IP Address
  3. Use the LAN IP Address of the node in the below URL
  4. http://<your node ip address>/sysinfo.cgi
  5. Login using your Velop system password and username of "admin"
  6. The report will display in browser, search for "bh_report" to find the backhaul report section

The output should look like this:

bh_report
Node (MAC) NODE IP PARENT IP Intf. Chan. RSSI(AP/STA) Speed State Timestamp
------------ --------------- --------------- ----- ----- ------------ --------- ----- ------------
149182854304 192.168.200.107 192.168.200.131 5GH 161 -70/-59 155.89500 up 1581717301

If you have wired nodes disconnect the Ethernet cable, wait 5 minutes and re-run the report to make sure those nodes are placed properly as well.

Uptime 50 minutes, which sounds about right for when it rebooted.

I recommend you contact linksyscares@linksys.com to get your MR9600 RMA replace because I believe it's malfunctioning.

Other than that you could double check the MR9000 power supply voltage with a multimeter.(12vdc, 4A).

This problem is not solved I don't know why this says it is solved. I have a $400 brick and Linksys is not helping me.

Hello @Lisbeth12,

We’d like to know the firmware version you have recently installed so we can have it checked. Is the router still broadcasting its SSID? Have you tried accessing the page using a different browser? You can try checking if the local IP address of your router has changed. Here’s a link you can use as your guide. If it has changed, try to use the new IP Address to access the page. However if the IP Address still remains as 192.168.1.1, we can try to perform a hard reset on the device. Press and hold the reset button for a minute. After the hard reset, do check if the page can be accessed by then.

If the same setback persists after the reset we can further isolate the issue by trying out the following:

  • Try plugging the Ethernet cable on the different Ethernet ports of the router
  • Try using a different Ethernet Cable
  • Try using a different computer or laptop

Let us know how it goes.

Hi. I don;t remember the version a I had tried. The browser is not broadcasting SSID. I had tried from firefox, chrome, and explorer; the test was made from two differents computers (one of them using windows and the other using linux), and two differents network cables.

I had followed the guide, and the command ipconfig/all does not show anything, this looks like nothing be connected to (all rj-45 ports from router where checked, even the wan port). A router's hard reset was tried and nothing.

I got a Lynksys Range Extender only a few weeks ago (for the computer in a corner of my house). Up until today it was wroking fine, by no means was it very fast but it was significantly better than my previous speeds.

Today, my download speed suddenly decreased to 1.66 mbps. For comparison, the WiFi speed it was replacing downloads at 7.23 mbps.

What I have already tried:
- Restarting my computer

- Unplugging the range extender and plugging back in

None of which has worked. Up until now it was working quite well. What can I do to fix this?

Got that, @Lisbeth12

To verify, are you connected to the router wired or wireless? Also, do you still have internet access after the update? Can you try to reboot both your router and your Computer for isolation? You may also try to clear the browser cache for further isolation. Let's see if it'll make any difference.

JackHT,

Hi there! May we know the exact model number of your Linksys device? Also,  the speed of the range extender increase if it is moved a little closer to or a little farther from your wireless router? By the way, what's the make and model of your router, and who's your ISP?

You can't with the Linksys firmware.

Only compatible WRT3200ACM open source firmwares like OpenWRT, DD-WRT or McDebian support client side OpenVPN WAN connections.

OK, i'm fully aware of the GUI, which in its turn must run with JS enabled browser "Lynx for example doesn't work". Out of pure curiosity, why the users is not able to use SSH "a basic feature" to manage such a router! Is there any process to submit a feature request, only on Wireless Routers of Linksys

Large Home - Router with Access Points

current router: AX6000

switch:             Netgear 16 port (8 used)

house:             wired with ethernet to central rooms

A customer just purchased a AX6000 router after a electrical problem fried the old one.

The home is 6000 sq/ft and he would like new access points placed in the central room of 3 floors and one additional access point in a family room.

The central rooms have ethernet cable.

What access points work great with the AX6000?

Thanks.

Darryl

Hi. The only way I have to be connected to the router is wired (I can not see the SSID via wireless), and I have not Internet access after update (via router). I had reboot the router and computers used to test, and cleared the cache in thosebrowsers.

Re: WRT160NL built in DHCP server and WEB server stop to work

I've been having the same issue with my E2500v3. Every few days in the morning the DHCP server stops working so clients can't connect to the wifi but existing connections continue to work. And the configuration website at http://192.168.1.1 does not respond. Computers with manual (static) IP configuration can still connect though, so I've been manually configuring devices as a work-around so they wont be affected.

I suspect this might be because I have the log enabled. It looks like it might be keeping all DHCP logs since the router powered on (but I only checked after restarting it so I'm not sure). This started happening after adding an access point on the other side of the house. Now our phones are frequently reconnecting to the wifi via different access points as we walk around the house so it would make sense if this is causing the DHCP log to fill up the memory or storage which then breaks the DHCP and web servers.

So I turned off the log and will see if it happens again.

Hi, ACETech.

We have a range extender that can be used as an access point depending on your preference. You can check this linkfor more information.
