Thank you for the suggesting day but as I've already said multiple times, I've tried this with every possible setting that is available on my router. That includes mutiple tests with WMM enabled/disabled and every other possible configuration (including enabling/disabling WMM with Qos/MediaPrioritization enabled and disabled). I would really appreciate it if people would actually take the time to read my posts before making suggestions. You'll see I took the time to read others' posts and I've provided more than enough details to rule out all the common solutions. I'm not going to sit here and list them all again as clearly none of you took the time to read them in any of my other posts. I've been testing this for a week. I didn't just up and cry to an internet forum the minute it didn't work. I put in plenty of effort to solve this and there clearly is no solution other than the router is junk. For the record, I have tried DMZ and other security settings such as disabling annoynymous internet filters and other default security settings. Unless you know some "secret menu" in the router settings, I have literally tried EVERYTHING.
Call LinkSys customer support? Well gee I'd be glad to do that except the only other time I tried to call LinkSys customer support was about 4 years ago and all I asked was "how do I reset the router?" as I didn't know where the reset button was (different LinkSys router then and I've had to teach myself EVERYTHING on the fly; I'm no expert and have no technical education) and they TRIED TO CHARGE ME $60 FOR ANY TECHNICAL SUPPORT. No way I'm paying $60 for another person to trip over themselves desperately trying to find a reason not to blame this router. I'm not going to spend $60 for someone to re-suggest everything I've already tried. $60 just to tell me that I need to poke a button on the back of the router for 10-30 seconds? That's a bigger ripoff than this router.
If any single one of can you explain why it works for 30 minutes or why another router works perfeclty I will eagerly listen.Otherwise, you're all just fanboys desperately trying to find a reason not to blame this router. Read my posts again. You'll see I've provided more than enough details and DONE plenty of testing (INCLUDING EVERY POSSIBLE SETTING AND EVERY SUGGESTED SOLUTION FROM THIS THREAD AND OTHERS) to conlcude that this router is just junk. If it wasn't, why would there would be so many people who have this exact problem? Whether it's firmware or any of the other 19 suggested "solutions" it all boils down to being unacceptable.
THIS ROUTER IS COMPLETE JUNK AND I WILL BE REPLACING IT WITH ANOTHER BRAND IMMEDIATELY. You can bet your tuckus that I will be back to update when I get another brand as well as we already know an older router from another brand works perfectly.
Funny how FurryNutz has no comment to a legitimate question. Looks like the only "solutions" provided around here are desperate attempts to blame the user and not the equipment. How come you still haven't answered my question FurryNutz? In the debate world, those that refuse to participate after a strong rebutall are considered childish. Please, why don't you go ahead and address the SERIOUS parts of my posts instead of trying to pick out some minor insignificant detail (like throughput speeds) and trying to rip that apart in a pathetic attempt to defend this router?
Please explain to me FurryNutz how inSSIDer will help when none of the channel settings fix the issue? Please explain to me FurryNutz how router placement is the problem when another router works perfectly fine permanetly and this router works perfectly for 10-30 mintues after EVERY reset? Please, be an adult and address those questions. Something tells me you don't actually address real conversation you just run around this website spewing the same exact filth over and over regardless of the information provided to you.
