Void the warranty? Well, as long as you are able to flash back the original firmware, they shouldn't know, and even if they do... graphic cards manufacturers now allow users to install custom BIOSes and custom waterloops to their products without voiding the warranty.
This is a little bit ridiculous, but anyway, I bought a refurbished EA6500 for 25% of the price with a 90-day warranty, so I guess I will have to do with it anyway.
But I actually love the original firmware. Just a few missing features. And a few really weird things. Yesterday, I got some trouble with the Smart Wi-Fi account not recognizing the router anymore. The procedure on the KB on this Linksys website suggests to reset the router (which eventually gets around the problem but doesn't really fix it), which I did, and after that.... bam, had a few more options unlocked, I'm now able to hide the SSID (that option wasn't available before) for both 2.4 and 5 GHz and I can rename the guest network (which was locked before to the same name as the 2.4 ghz SSID with the added "_guest" part).
Weird weird weird!
