@lock2nl, if ever there are any firmware updates, it is recommended to have it manually updated on your router to avoid what you eoncountered. About setting a static DNS server on your local network, I believe the router will be using its own IP address for the DNS servers unless you have a Static internet connection type. But you can still try it on your router and check if it will work.
