I've owned BOTH the Netgear R7000 and the EA6900 and don't let the "fake" Amazon reviews sway you. The R7000 is garbage and I would get daily disconnects and poor/slow 5GHz performance. Also I've had to return the unit TWICE for faulty (cheaply-built) antennas. Since I switched over to the EA6900 a few weeks ago - I have NOT had a single disconnet and both my 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wifi has been rocking.
My previous router was an Asus RT-AC66U and the EA6900 hs even out-performed that brand/model as well. Some people as just 'Linksys Haters' and will bash the product without merit. The EA6900 is an awesome router with stable and superb performance.
Oh and I don't work for Belkin/Linksys. For a flashing light I would suggest resetting (factory default) the router, update the firmware and start from scracth. Good luck.
