Make sure that you can go online directly to your modem using your computer to verify if the username and password is correct. You may call your ISP and bug them that you need to be online straight to their modem to check if the settings are correct or you may try these steps here:
Steps to connect using PPOE for MAC:
Make sure that the DSL modem is on and connect your computer to the DSL cable using an Ethernet cable.
From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
From the View menu, choose Network.
Click the "+" button in the bottom left corner to add a new interface.
Choose "PPPoE" as the Interface, and make sure "Ethernet" is selected in the "Ethernet" menu.
Click Create.
Type your username in the Account Name field and password in the Password field and then Save password.
Open a web browser or other Internet (TCP/IP) application to verify your connection.
For Windows:
Please Click the Start button, go to Control Panel. And then go to Network and Internet->View network status and tasks page.
Click on Set up a new connection or network.
Select Connect to the Internet and click Next button.
Click on Broadband (PPPoE).
Type in the information from you ISP. Please make sure all these information is correct. And then, click Connect button.
If all your information is correct you should be online.
Once you can, you need to set your computer back to DHCP then you can set-up the router using PPOE settings. It's a long process, but feel free to ask me if you need some clarifications.
