I have version 1, and reverted to 156465 a month ago. I was still having problems and found that after updating the firmware the router it upgraded itself again. I think by default the 156465 will automatically update creating the perception that reverting didn't work. It took a month of family frustration for me to finally figure this out.
It looks like you have to revert and take the extra step of turning off the auto update after you revert to keep it from updating.
I can't imagine how many frustrated owners are out there trying to trouble shoot their 1.0 routers only to find that by default the router will repeatedly and automatically default to upgrading itself to the WRONG firmware. How insanely circular.
