EA6900 DHCP Problems

I have a EA6900 linksys router connected to an arris modem (TM822). Comcast is my ISP.

Each time the DHCP server tries to renew a client's lease... the entire wifi network drops. I cannot access the network from any laptop or device (iPhones, etc) after the network drops. It just gives me "cannot connect to this network".The computer hooked in by ethernet cable is completely fine and not affected by any of this.  This problem isn't solved until I've reset the modem AND the router. To test this, I let the router/modem sit last night after everything dropped connection and checked it in the morning. Still no access.

I've tried to set static ips to see if that would fix the problem... no dice.  Computers won't even connect then. I've seen people suggest cloning the MAC address but doing this makes it so the computer connected by ethernet cable can't connect to the internet at all. All the settings look correct and I've tried resetting to the default settings with no results. Power cycling doesn't do a thing either.

Other things of note I suppose:

-We've switched routers twice very recently

-We use an extender for the other half of the house

-Sometimes the wifi drops for another unexplained reason (at least once a day)? Not sure what's causing that. Happened on the other router as well, but more frequently.

Is it the modem/router/ISP? I'm tearing my hair out trying to figure it out. :(
