Thanks everyone for the input. I'll use one word to describe the root cause: COMCAST. The local technical support(myself) figured it out and called them to fix. They basically removed my "customer owned modem" that I've had for six months and working with no issues from my account. Keep in mind that I contacted them before I bought one and used one that they recommended. When I called them yesterday/today they claimed there was never any modem on my account. Anyway that's it. Certain things continued to work (Apple stuff) while EVERYTHING else suffered without intervention.
